What is WORLDCHEFS?
The World Association of Chefs’ Societies, or WORLDCHEFS in short, is a dynamic global network of more than 100 chef associations representing chefs, cooks and culinary students at all levels and across all specialties worldwide. It was founded in 1928 at the Sorbonne in Paris with the venerable Auguste Escoffier as the first Honorary President.
WORLDCHEFS is a global authority on food, creating impact through these core focus areas:
Education – includes our landmark Recognition of Quality Culinary Education program and the world’s first global culinary certification;
Networking – WORLDCHEFS provides a gateway to global culinary networking opportunities and hosts the landmark biennial WORLDCHEFS Congress & Expo;

How do I register?
Registration is quick and easy!
First, sign up for your free account with the WORLDCHEFS Academy. Simply click the Free Sign Up button at the top of the page or the Get Started button on the home page. Then answer a few basic questions and submit.
You will then see a welcome video. Once you have watched that, you will see the courses that you can register for are on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the register button for the course, then click the enrol button. That’s it, you can then access the course.
How do I change my password?
If you are logged into the application, click on the ACCOUNT item in the top menu (if using a desktop) or the Account logo if using the mobile app. Then click the edit preferences and you will see the option to change your password.
How do I access the course?
Once you have registered and signed in to the application, you will see the courses that you can register for are on the right-hand side of the screen. Click to register for the course, then click the enrol button.
What if I don’t have access to the Internet?
Don’t worry, we have that covered. The course is available to download via the mobile apps so that you can access it while you are offline. You will however need initial access to the internet to download the app and to register and download the course. Then once you’re back online your course progress will be uploaded.
How do I access offline mode?
First, you must download the course to your mobile device. To do this, access the app while online and go to your course You will see a ‘Download’ button on the course tile. Click this and wait until it is downloaded.
Once downloaded, go to your account page (the icon at the bottom that looks like a person) and you will see the option to put the course into offline mode.
Remember, once you are back online, you’ll want to upload your progress, so switch the offline mode back to ________________.
Once I register, what happens next?
Once you have registered your account with WORLDCHEFS Academy, you will have access to the available course(s). You then register for the course you wish to take, click enrol and you can then start your first lesson.
What do I do if I’m stuck on a question?
When you take a lesson test or the final assessment and you do not meet the required pass mark, you will be told which questions you have answered incorrectly. You can try the test again, answering with a different answer. If you are still unable to answer correctly, we suggest reviewing the relevant lesson again, watching the video and/or reading the transcript. If after you do this, you still are unable to pass the test, please contact us using this page https://www.WORLDCHEFSacademy.com/contact/ and we’ll be happy to assist.
What format does the course come in?
The course is divided into modules and each module has individual lessons. Each lesson has an overview telling you the learning outcomes, and the lesson itself which covers the learning points. Each lesson also has a video and a transcript to further help your learning. Some lessons also have downloadable resources.
At the end of each lesson, there is a short test to check your understanding. You must pass this test in order to progress to the next lesson.
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you cannot remember your password, visit the login page and click the ‘Forgot password link’. Enter your email address when prompted and we will send you instructions on how to reset your password.
Can I access the course on a mobile device?
Do you have an App?
Why are some lessons locked?
You must complete each lesson in order to progress through the course. At the end of each lesson there is a short test. You must pass the test in order to unlock the next lesson.
Can I leave a course?
Yes, you do not have to complete the course if you do not want to. You can unenroll from a course at any time. If you have not unenrolled, then your progress in the course will expire after six months.
Can I re-join a course I previously left?
Yes, your progress will be saved for 2 years and you simply pick up from where you left off, however, you must complete the course within 2 years from the starting date.
My email address is not recognised?
If you are seeing a message that your email address is not recognised, it is likely that you either used a different email address in order to register, or your account is expired because of inactivity. You will need to register a new account.
What are the icons at the bottom of the mobile app screen?
At the bottom of the mobile app, you’ll see a home icon to go to the home screen.
The course icon will show you a list of available courses.
The course activity icon will show you the courses that you are enrolled in.
The account icon is used to access your account details.
How do I upload my picture?
You can upload your picture through the My Account area. Select ‘My Account’, then Edit Preferences’ then ‘Edit Profile’. You will then see a button that allows you to upload your profile image.
Who do I contact if I am having difficulty with the course?
Can I complete a lesson without watching the video?
You can complete the lesson without watching the video by clicking on the transcript tab and once you have read the entire transcript, select the option to mark the lesson as complete.
How do I request you to delete my account and data?
You can request deletion of your account by contact us
Certification Program
Once I complete the course, what happens?
Once you have completed the course, you will be provided with a downloadable certificate that you can save and print. This will show a potential employer that you have completed the basic training necessary for your first position in a professional kitchen.
Is this really free? Why?
Yes, the WORLDCHEFS Academy is completely free of charge. WORLDCHEFS is committed to improving the culinary standards of cuisine worldwide and providing this quality education helps us to do that.
How will WORLDCHEFS Academy help me enter the culinary industry?
By completing the course and passing the final assessment, you will have demonstrated a basic level of knowledge, which will impress upon a potential employer that you have the potential and capability of entering the industry.
Who created the course?
WORLDCHEFS Advisors have joined together with our partner, Nestlé Professional to develop and launch the WORLDCHEFS Academy.
How long should the course take to complete?
This depends upon the amount of time that you have – You could complete the course within 30 days. You must however complete the course within 6 months from your start date.
Is there a practical exam?
No, there is no practical exam. There is a required final assessment which must be taken online.
Can I start the course anytime?
Yes, you can start the course at any time.
Can anyone sign up and start a course?
Yes.
I’m an education provider, can I use WORLDCHEFS Academy as part of my culinary course?
Yes
Where can I offer feedback or suggestions?

Are there more courses to come to WORLDCHEFS Academy?
At present the Pre-Commis Chef course is the only one available. We are planning to offer additional courses in the future. We are also planning to offer our courses in additional languages.
What happens after 6 months?
You have to start over and retake the course.
Once I register, how long do I have to complete the course?
6 Months
How many times can I attempt the final assessment?
As many times as you need to pass the course during the 6 months.

After I complete the course, what is the next step?
Once you have had the opportunity to work in a commercial kitchen for 3 years under the supervision of a professional chef (or perhaps you already have the required work experience), your Next Step is the WORLDCHEFS Certification pathway and the completion of the Certified Professional Cook (Commis Chef) designation.
